Christ the Redeemer Church of St. Augustine held a public Baptism event on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the St. Johns County Beach Pavilion. Following a time set aside for congregation members to gather together for food and fellowship, the Church’s Senior Pastor, Dr. Ronnie Warren, led a large group of baptismal candidates, family and friends to the ocean shoreline. One by one, young and old, a total of eighteen people were baptized to a new life in Jesus Christ. Pastor Warren commented, “It has recently come to my attention that statistics show that the average church in America only baptizes one new person every other year! We just baptized eighteen!”

Hundreds of onlookers, out to enjoy a perfect-weather beach day, were scattered across the sands and all along the famous public pier. Many stopped what they were doing to watch as Pastor Warren invited each Baptism candidate to join him in the ocean shallows just off the shoreline. As he prayed over each one, they were submerged and quickly brought up, rising to hear cheers from families, friends
and even from some of those who were Watching.

“We are a growing congregation, and I am so excited that all of these new believers were compelled to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in baptism for all to see”, stated Pastor Warren.
