by: Bill Jones ~ St. Augustine Beach Civic Association

We can’t promise that parking will be free but on May 15th and continuing for 18 consecutive Wednesdays, the Saint Augustine Beach Civic Association and it’s sponsors can promise your free music! It’s the 17th season of the iconic Music by the Sea Concert Series and there is something for everyone. We got classic rock, blues, country, disco, jazz and Latin music too.

Each week a different eatery will provide an optional dinner fot $10 or less beginning at 6 PM with live music starting promptly at 7 PM.

The event is funded in part by The Civic Association, along with a tourism development grant.

The rest of the money comes from sponsors and donors. We are so grateful to have some great sponsors, some have been with us many years and they are: Longstreet Auto, Diane’s Natural Market, Annie-Mac Mortgage, Old City Homes and Roofing, Pop A Lock of St Augustine, The Bailey Group, Sunset Grille, Diane Vespucci / ReMax 100 Realty and Land Title. We wouldn’t do this without these great local businesses. Please remember then when you shop or need professional services.

New Commission Member Addresses Civic Association
Dylan Rumrell has some big shoes to fill and he was quick to SABCA remind members that he is one voice and one vote. Rumrell was eventually an unanimous choice to take the place of retiring Commissioner and former Mayor Rich O’Brien.

Rumrell has promised to be accessible and listen to his constituents with an open mind. Rumrell is a realtor and does lots of consulting. He told members “I lived here a long time and want to hear from the residents. I don’t own any property or business on the boulevard and I’m here to serve”. Mr. Rumrell will jump right into the fire as the Commission deals with the neighborhood parking and pay to parkin City owned lots. We wish him well.
