The 18th season of the iconic Music by the Sea Concerts is just few months away. The series will again be held on Wednesday evenings beginning in late May and running though August. Sponsorship sales are going well.

This year longtime sponsor Dave Hinton, owner of Longstreet Auto is taking his support of the series to a new level! Dave and his daughter are the owners of Pure Barre, a new studio where you’ll find a unique way to get fit. Staffed by highly-trained teachers, Pure Barre at US 1 and SR 207 features four group class formats that deliver an effective total-body workout focused on low impact, high-intensity movements that lift and tone muscles and improve strength, agility and flexibility for every type of body. MBTS also welcomes Atlantic Self Storage and its new facility at the corner of SR 312 and A1A to our family of partners. The facility is leasing spaces now.

So please add Pure Barre and Atlantic Self Storage to your list of local businesses to support. Also, back as partners again 2020 are Longstreet Auto, and Gaye Jones / Annie-Mac Home Mortgage.

The response to our MBTS survey was not much of a surprise. Over a thousand people responded and what we have been able to determine is something we knew already. People love MBTS and pretty much said that except for winter, our fans are ready to come to concerts almost any other time of year.

Of course, the number of shows we can do each year is based entirely on money. Sponsorships, TDC Grant and donations from patrons make it all happen. If you’ve got a fundraising idea or an interest in becoming a sponsor, please reach out to us by emailing to

Join us at our March Meeting at The Art Studio

Our first two meetings of the new year have been very informative and well attended. In January, City Building Official Brian Law for the great presentation at our January meeting.

Mr. Law is extremely knowledgeable and was able to share detailed information on Embassy Suites expansion and progress on other new businesses opening on the Boulevard. In February, we learned in detail about the importance of participation in the 2020 Census.

Local resident Jennifer Pyle, Partnership Director for the US Census conveyed the great care being taken to protect our personal information as the Census compiles data that will determine representation in Congress, along with how and where millions of Federal dollars will be allocated. With the growth we are experiencing, these dollars are very important to our community.

Our next meeting set for Thursday March 19th and our guest speaker will be Commander Thomas L Ashlock of the Beach Police speaking about Public Safety, traffic and beach safety.
