(St. Augustine, Fla.) – An estimated 300 people are expected to raise more than $60,000 at Walk MS: St Augustine on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in St. Augustine. Walk MS is an opportunity for people to come together with friends, loved ones and co-workers to fundraise, connect and advocate for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) – a disease of the central nervous system affecting nearly 1 million Americans, which currently has no known cause or cure. Each step taken and dollar raised brings us that much closer to the Society’s goal – a world free of MS. With nearly 300,000 people fundraising and volunteering at more than 300 events nationwide each year, Walk MS has generated more than $1 billion since its inception in 1988.

“Walk MS participants continue to be inspired by the study results we announced last year that showed more than twice as many people in the U.S. are living with MS than previously thought,” said Cyndi Zagieboylo, President and CEO of the National MS Society. “MS is often an invisible disease, as symptoms can range from numbness and tingling, to mobility challenges, blindness and in some cases paralysis. At the Society, we believe no one should face MS alone, which is why Walk MS is such a powerful gathering place for the MS movement. We walk to show everyone living with MS we see them, they matter and together we are stronger.”
